Hi, I’m Chris Logstrup, and I’m running for the Limestone District School Board in Countryside-Kingscourt Rideau & Williamsville.
Kingston is a great place to raise a family. We are lucky to live in a community where people care so deeply, and want to get involved. But too often, when parents and community members try to engage with our school board, they are met with red tape instead of real human answers.
Right now, Ontario’s school boards are facing immense centralization of decisions under one size fits all management from Toronto, and we are losing local democratic voices when we need them more than ever. We are facing enormous challenges and it is more essential than ever that our school board is actively listening and engaging the frontline, the educators, the students, and the families who live with boardroom decisions every single day.
I am living through the realities of the education system right now, so I know firsthand how deeply critical it is to uplift students and give them a real say in the decisions that affect them everyday. I also know that when the Board creates barriers for parents, it ultimately makes learning harder for our awesome students, and teaching harder for our world-class educators.
I’m running for LDSB Trustee because our students and families deserve a board that communicates clearly, engages parents and community members, and prioritizes its $316.9 million operating budget directly in our classrooms and frontline staff.
Kingston is a great city because people show up for each other. Let’s build a more transparent, barrier-free school board that works for everyone, and uses it's power to advocate for our community.
I would be honoured to earn your vote, and I will work hard for you every single day if elected.
